The history of Maison Repossi

Maison Repossi was founded in the 1940s in Turin, Italy. After the war, Constantin Repossi took over his father's workshops and founded Maison Repossi. In 1950, he opened the first boutique in Turin, which would become the historic headquarters of Maison Repossi. It was Constantin Repossi's son, Alberto Repossi, who developed Maison Repossi internationally, opening a boutique in Monaco in 1979, then a boutique at 6, Place Vendôme in Paris in 1986. In 1994, Maison Repossi was chosen by Prince Rainier III of Monaco as an official supplier.

The Maison was later taken over by his daughter, Gaia Repossi, who evolved the Repossi style with new techniques. In 2007, she became Artistic and Creative Director of the Maison, and in 2010, she launched collaborations with Alexander Wang and Joseph Altuzarra. New collections followed and became iconic collections of the Maison: the Berbère Collection in 2011, the Forçat Collection in 2012, the White Noise Collection in 2014… Gaia Repossi was rewarded for her work with the title of "Best jewelry designer of the year" (ELLE UK Style Award 2013).

In 2015, Maison Repossi partnered with LVMH, and in 2018, the Maison expanded further internationally with the opening of new boutiques worldwide (Dubai, Hong Kong, London).

From Art Deco style to complex elegance

In its early days, Maison Repossi favored the Art Deco and avant-garde style, like many jewelry Maisons in the 1940s and 1950s. Over the years, with the successive contributions of Alberto Repossi and Gaia Repossi, Repossi jewelry became more architectural, with complex motifs.

Gaia Repossi introduced new High Jewelry techniques to the historic Repossi workshops, established in 1925. These techniques have made it possible to create unique collections, always in line with the vision launched by Constantin Repossi at the founding of the Maison.

Maison Repossi has thus created new setting techniques, such as the raised setting or the open setting, to highlight diamonds. These techniques blend wonderfully with the colored diamonds carefully chosen by the Maison, from Alberto's time to the present day. Because even if Gaia Repossi has changed many things within the Maison, the tribal, Indian, and architectural inspiration has not changed over the centuries, only the techniques are reinvented!
